Early at Dawn Early (השכם השכם בבוקר).
Writen by Rachel Shapira (רחל שפירא).
There are not many songs today with words like this! Maybe we should call it a poem
The translation is by myself with a good deal of help from my wife Shuneet.
My wife is certain that this describes a group of soldiers who have been in battle and maybe
right, however there is no explicit mention of war or soldiers and the poem could
have a more general application. A group ("we") had been through a night of storm and now
silent, stunned, cold and lonely but must continue together... This might apply to a hurricane.
You can hear and see this in
a live recording on YouTube
with Hava Alberstein. I think the version on the record "Like a Wild Flower" is better
