South Shore Art Center

This gallery is in the picturesque village of Cohasset, MA. Michael Cunliffe Thompson is an Gallery Artist Member of the South Shore Art Center. Mike is a Gallery Artist and shows work regularly at the SSAC.

My painting "High Noon below the Surface" has been accepted for the Gallery Artists Show "Water" 2010 juried by Jennifer Wood.

Two works of mine are in the "Out Town - Seen and Unseen" show (Sept 2009). They are Entrance to Scituate Harbor and Farm Near the Sea . The jurer was Carole Bolsey.

A work of mine Ivy Climbing on Oaks won Second Prize in the Show "Trees" for Gallery Artists.

Concord Art Association

For several years I have taken part in Paint The Town, in which artists fan out around Concord to paint local scenes for sale by auction that very evening. This is a high adrenalin activity! For more information, see Concord Art Association.

My painting Dingy Dock at Stonington was accepted for the Frances N. Roddy Open Competiton, 2005. The jurer was Catherine French, Director of the Danforth Museum of Art, Framingham, MA.

The painting Tide at Dusk was accepted for the Members Juried I Exhibition of the The jurer was Larry Powers of the Powers Gallery. This exhibition will run from January 8th to 30th, 2005 in the galleries at 37 Lexington Road, Concord, MA 01742

The paintings Schooner PAN at the Dock and Jerusalem Hills were both accepted for the Members Juried I Exhibition of the Concord Art Association. in 2004.

My painting "Winter - Penobscot Bay" was accepted for the Frances N. Roddy Open Competiton Sept 11-28, 2002. The jurer was Howard Yezersky of the Howard Yezersky Gallery, Boston.

Newburyport Artist Association

This gallery is in Newburyport at the mouth of the Merrimac River in Massachusetts. Michael Cunliffe Thompson is an Artist Member of the Newburyport Artist Association.

The painting "Inner Cove" was sold at the 2009 Annual Art Auction.

The painting "Saddleback Light and Brimstone" has been admitted to the Fall Members Juried Show, 2006. The juror was Susan Erony, Executive Director of the SeARTS, Gloucester, MA.


Both "Plum Island - Early Spring" and "Path at Liberty Street" were admitted to the Newburyport 8th Annual Regional Juried Show, 2005. The juror was Karl Belz, Director Emeritus of the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA.


Both "Tide at Dusk" and "Binney Pond" was admitted to the 2005 Members Juried Winter Show II. The juror was Trudy Allen of Gallery Director of North Shore Arts Assoc.

Both "Summer Islands" and "Schooner PAN at the Dock" were admitted to the Members Juried Winter Show II, 2004. The juror was Cate Aichele of Sanctuary Arts, Eliot, Maine.

"Crimson Storm" was shown in the 6th Regional Juried Art Show, 2003.
The jurer was Michael Culver: Director/Curator of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, Ogunquit, Maine.

Ferry Wharf Gallery

Sadly this gallery is now closed because of the economic downtturn.

Fitchburg Art Museum

The museum is in Fitchburg at the town center. For Information on the Fitchburg Art Museum including directions. I have paintings the annual Regional Show. The 74th Regional Show will run from June 28 to September 6th 2009. Two of my paintings have been accepted.

Francesca Anderson Fine Arts

In Lexington Massachusetts, the Francesca Anderson Fine Art Gallery held a "For the Love of Snow" exhibition in 2005.

Cambridge Art Association

Recently accepted by a jury as a member of the Cambridge Art Association. The paintings submitted to the jury were Slick, Jerusalem Hills and Running Jaquish Gut.

Cape Cod Artists Association
